A nice overnight rest stop on our travels
Felt it was quite luxurious compared to other hotels we have stayed in around Japan. The ‘happy hour was a pleasant surprise and much appreciated. Breakfast was comprehensive. Dinner was more limited.
Our room was too far away from lift. Empty pools!

Wonderful
We had a small issue with the hotel shuttle but the staff was very attentive and they fixed it for us. Mistakes can happen anywhere and it is great when the staff reacts and fixes them in real time. Thank youl

What was the highlight of The Luigans Spa and Resort
Good
It's located in a remote area by the sea. Great for a couple of days just lazing around in good weather. Staff is helpful. The restaurants food is quite good. The public bath is nice. The room is spacious. Carpark is free.
There are no restaurants nearby. The nearest is 20 minutes away by car. The pillows are too soft, we couldn't sleep well. Not ideal for tourists to use it as a base to explore Kyushu.

What was the highlight of The Luigans Spa and Resort
Good
The views were amazing.
The carpet in the room had stains on it. The breakfast was a mishmash of dishes, couldn't find bacon ( except mixed in with potatoes), no scrambled eggs. There was no toaster/griller for bread/waffles/pancakes and no knives for the butter. The food had no real theme. The coffee in the room was better than at breakfast. The pool was closed even though it was warm/hot. Dinner I ordered lobster bouillabaisse and the lobster was very tough ( very overcooked), food was all substandard for a resort. I also ordered an Australian Shiraz which had obviously been open for some time so was off.
